Taught by
Dr. Pema Dorjee

Tibetan medicine is one of the oldest and most comprehensive medical systems in existence. It is a holistic philosophy that seeks to maintain the harmonious operation and balance of all the energies that constitute the human psycho-physical being. Based on the centuries-old Buddhist study of the mind, it has provided what seem to be miracle cures for diseases often considered untreatable by allopathic medicine.

Dr. Dorjee, one of the most renowned Tibetan physicians practicing today, is visiting Atlanta for the month of March from Dharamsala, India, where he is heads the Research Department of Men-Tsee-Khang, the Medical Institute of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Dr. Dorjee will lead two workshops while in Atlanta, entitled “Optimum Health,” in which he will present the comprehensive principles of health from a holistic Tibetan medical perspective. Participants will learn about the unique nature of their own mind and body, its strengths and its weaknesses, and therefore what diet, lifestyle, and environment will be most conducive to their health. Tibetan medicine values preventative care: by understanding our mind/body profile we also understand our predispositions to disease and can learn the factors of nutrition, activity, environment, and psychology that will help us maintain optimum health.

Note: Each afternoon workshop will have the same content, so please sign up for one day only. Space is limited.
