    Learn Tibetan!

with Geshe Yeshe Phelgey

Learn to speak and read Tibetan in a fun group environment. Small class size ensures personal attention. The instructor, Geshe Yeshe Phelgey, is a native Tibetan speaker whose skills in Tibetan language and literature are unparalleled among his generation. He graduated at the top of his class in the Tibetan Language and Literature Teacher Training Program at The Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies in Varanasi, India. In addition, he holds the Geshe degree from Drepung Loseling Monastery. His good humor and excellent teaching skills ensure a rewarding experience for all.
 
The goal of the first 10-week course is basic conversation for travel,and learning the Tibetan alphabet and word formation. You will be able to recognize and pronounce many basic words.
 
The text for the course is Learning Practical Tibetan by Andrew Bloomfield &Yangki Tshering, available at Drepung Loseling Institute for $16.95 plus tax.
