Basic Tibetan Language Class
with
Tsepak Rigzin
February 11 - April 22, 2010
Thursdays: 7:00 - 8:30 pm

| Tsepak Rigzin will teach a Basic Tibetan class in ten sessions. In this class, students will be introduced to the Tibetan alphabet, vowels, prefixes, suffixes, superscript, subjoined letters and the fundamental rules of pronunciation and reading based on standard U-Chen calligraphy. The main objective of this class will be to develop reading skills in Tibetan. Students will also learn some basic conversational Tibetan. Handouts will be provided. |

| Tsepak
Rigzin is Drepung Loseling’s scholar-in-residence, Tibetan language instructor, and official translator for the center. The author of numerous books and articles on Tibetan Buddhism, he has extensive experience in teaching Tibetan language to non-Tibetan speaking students. He is currently teaching Tibetan language at Emory University. A distinguished educator, he has held the highest positions at various Tibetan educational institutions. He received his traditional Buddhist training from the Institute of Buddhist Dialectics, his M.A. and B.A. from Punjab University, and his B.Ed. from Annamalai University, India. |

Policy: |
| One-day
events: If you withdraw before the day of the event, we
will refund your fees, minus a $20 administrative charge.
There will be no other refunds. |
| Multiple-day
events: If you withdraw before the start of the retreat,
course, or event, we will refund your fees, minus a 10%
administrative charge. If you withdraw after the first
retreat or teaching session, we will refund 75% of the
fees. After the start of the second session there will
be no refunds. |
