Drepung Loseling Monastery in Atlanta, GA will celebrate Losar, the Tibetan New Year, on Wednesday, February 18 at 9 am Eastern for the Tibetan year 2153, Fire Horse.

In Tibetan astrology, the Fire Horse is a powerful and auspicious combination. The horse represents speed, freedom, and forward momentum, while the fire element brings passion, energy, and transformation. The Fire Horse year is considered a dynamic time for pursuing new endeavors and positive change.

The venerable monks will lead a traditional puja with chanting of auspicious prayers, offering of prayers for His Holiness the Dalai Lama's long and healthy life, for the well-being of our brothers and sisters in Tibet, and for world peace. The monks will also offer traditional Losar servings of sweet rice (dresil) and tea (chai).

We invite you to celebrate with us!
