| Dear Members and Friends, |

As the two major earthquakes in Turkey and Syria with a magnitude of 7.8 and 6.3 had destroyed or damaged thousands of buildings in Turkey and Syria causing over 50,000 deaths and displaced millions of people from their homes, many of you may be wondering how you can help. We have identified a wonderful organization, World Central Kitchen (WCK), that we invite you to support. Founded in 2010 by Chef José Andrés, World Central Kitchen (WCK) is a nonprofit organization that is first to the frontlines providing fresh meals in response to crises, while working to build resilient food systems with locally led solutions. |

| To date, WCK has served over 3,500,000 meals in Turkey and Syria after the earthquakes. |
| |
| To support this work, we are inviting our friends and members to donate to a fund to support WCK’s work for the people of Turkey & Syria and all affected by the multiple earthquakes since February 6. |
| |
| We ask you to give as generously as you can, and to kindly cover the PayPal fee if you are able so that 100% of the funds collected will go to providing meals to those in desperate need. |

| Our spiritual director, Geshe Lobsang Tenzin Negi, has designated $1,500 from the Drepung Loseling Director’s Discretionary Fund for this purpose, and we hope that you will join us in helping WCK meet the basic need for food for displaced communities in both countries after the earthquakes. |

| Please extend your compassion to the millions of people whose lives have been devastated by these earthquakes and join our venerable monks for the Medicine Buddha puja with the Drepung Loseling monks of the Mystical Arts of Tibet tour on March 19 at 2 pm if you are able and keep them in your prayers. |

| This fundraising drive will continue through Tuesday, March 21, 2023, whereupon all funds raised will be sent directly to World Central Kitchen to continue their efforts. |
