Sharing Tibet’s unique culture
to promote global peace, healing and
understanding

Whether in times of celebration, for healing after a tragedy, or for education and cultural exchange, our monks on the Mystical Arts of Tibet tours have shared Tibet’s sacred arts and culture with over a thousand communities in the past fifteen years, including:

Celebrating Independence Day with tens of thousands at the National Mall in Washington DC as part of the Smithsonian Folklife Festival in 2000
Creating a Sand Mandala for Healing and offering prayers in New York City and in Washington DC following the 9/11 tragedies; in Oklahoma following the Oklahoma City Bombing; and in Slidell, Louisiana, in the wake of Hurricane Katrina
These tours seek to promote peace and healing in our world and raise awareness of Tibet’s endangered culture and need for religious freedom. They have also raised vital funds needed to support Drepung Loseling Monastery in India, thereby helping to ensure the preservation of the Tibetan Buddhist culture in exile.

“The construction of the healing mandala in the aftermath of the 9/11 tragedy brought a sense of relief and emotional healing to many of our visitors. This is evidenced by hundreds of moving comments made in our visitors’ books.”
–Vidya Dehejia, Acting Director, Smithsonian’s Sackler Gallery.

“Thank you, Drepung Loseling Monastery, for your contributions in helping our city in its recovery efforts following Hurricane Katrina with your presentation of the Mystical Arts of Tibet Sacred Music Sacred Dance and your donation of the Mystical Arts of Tibet mandala. Your efforts will never be forgotten.”

–Ben O. Morris, Mayor of the City of Slidell, Louisiana
